Furniture
In the years journeying through Micronesia and the Orient (especially
China and Japan), the Kagles selected and acquired some major
works of art which were furniture.
Breadfruit Tree of Ngibtal
This dort and ptas wood table was a special order work of art
for William Vitarelli in ca. 1965. Kagle purchased the work in
1976 from Vitarelli when he left Palau to live in Hawaii. One
of the unique features of the work is the hardness of the wood
and the crisp, sure, linear design of the carving. Osiik is recognized
as one of the seven masters of modern Palauan carving and considers
this work "one of my finest, treasured works."
